The Class in IRUMA

This Monday, I was very glad and I praise God when I was hearing report from IRUMA Class.

IRUMU is located in a rich province, full of natural resources. Looking how life is in this place, enough food, space is enough for many people. But this place was affected more by conflicts, army conflicts, ethnicity. This situation has created a big delay for development process. Now you can see how it is affecting living conditions of its population, poor infrastructures, no way to talk about investment or serving. Local leaders are struggling for the advancement and improvement in their communities.

Among dangerous places where people are afraid to live in the DRC because of the insecurity, this place (IRUMU) is among the top of the list because different army groups that still be active there.

When we started this class, I did not expect much. I was actually afraid. A teacher for AL Congo volunteered to go there and teach. For the security reasons, it was not easy to take decision. I praise God, He put the courage in our hearts, because he had a plan for this place. As we use to say it is in such time, in uncertainty, fear, where our Lord, the one who calls us for this work, shows His Power and Strength. The teacher spent 2 months there and now he is back.

On his return, he was very enthusiastic, motivated and grateful for the moment spent there with students and local leaders. He shared with us how he passed wonderful moment with students there. How students welcomed the program and the thirst they had in attending courses. This was amazing.

The first word that the teacher told us as feedback from students, ‘’this training opens our eyes from blindness and reveals JESUS, real Jesus to us”. They discovered how sweet is the word of God and how they were in ignorance. Some shared that they find bible new again. “Long time I have bible, preach it, but this training makes it new”. For each step, they find themselves and love the moment in class.

There is instability at this place. They are there today, but don’t know what will happen tomorrow but they are encouraged to be trained and this make them grateful for what God is doing and what is going to do for them and for IRUMA. These students need your prayer for protection as they are facing difficult moment due to insecurity and they keep in mind and hearts trusting God in all circumstances.
