MAY 2019 Prayer Guide

“The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.”  Psalm 145:18 NIV

Wed 1- Please pray for healing for Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he is being treated for cancer. Please pray for continued faith and peace for him and his wife Helene during this difficult time. Pray for his ministry back in Rwanda that continues in his absence.

Thu 2- Please continue to pray for those in Southern Africa struggling in the aftermath of Cyclone Idai. Many lives have been lost and many more have been displaced from their homes. Pray for our students and alumni who have been affected in a district of Nsanje in Malawi and are now living in camps.

Fri 3- Praise the Lord with us for His healing touch on the children at the Flame of Love orphanage in Goma, Congo. Please continue to pray for Sister Alvera as she receives treatment for cancer far away in Italy. Thank God for the caregivers who have stepped in to care of the children in her stead. Pray the Lord provides all they need to love and care well for them! 

Sat 4- Pray for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director for Malawi. Pray for the fulfilment of their 2019 plans to open new classes across the Malawi. Pray for travelling mercies for Leonard and for passion for the teachers and students who are part of the theological training program across Malawi. Pray the Lord's guidance for his Board of Directors as they meet today. 

Sun 5- Pray for Denis Hangi, Country Director for Congo. There is much tension as the country continues to wait for the establishment of the government after elections in December. Lacking this, there is increased fear of violence, infrastructure instability and movement around the country. Pray safety for Denis and his staff as they continue to travel to fellowship together, teach, and mentor leaders amidst high tensions.

Mon 6- Please pray for the men and women of Blessed camp in Eastern Kenya as they grieve the loss of one of their communities members. Pray they know God's comfort during this time of bereavement. 

Tue 7- Please pray for the people of South Africa as they vote in a national political election tomorrow, May 8.  Pray for peace in the process! 

Wed 8- Pray for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone as he travels throughout the country meeting with his Board and teachers. He is struggling with infrastructure shortcomings in Sierra Leone and needs the Lord’s hand to pave the road for him as he moves. Please also pray for daily stamina for Jonathan's two children as they are in university in the U.S.

Thu 9- Praise God for our Board of Directors who generously invest in this ministry with their time, talent, and treasures!

 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8 NLT

Fri 10- Please pray for our Country Director, Asrat Gizaw, as he balances a rapidly growing program in Ethiopia. Pray for his local Board, that they would be the support he needs in this busy time. Also, pray for the country of Ethiopia as there is political instability there.  

Sat 11- Praise God for all those who invest in this ministry through prayer and finances

Sun 12- "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.  She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." Proverbs 31:25-26 NIV  Praise God for moms who love their children well and raise them up in the love of Christ! Happy Mother's Day!  

Mon 13- Praise the Lord for Geoffrey & Jennifer Ocan who celebrate their wedding anniversary today! We are thankful that as Geoffrey serves as African Leadership's Country Director for Uganda, he has a faithful, praying wife by his side! 

Tue 14- Pray for Peter Ochiel and his family as they continue to serve their community in Eastern Kenya through Action Ministry.  Pray for the staff and volunteers who serve faithfully alongside Peter.  Pray for the Baraka School as the children resume classes this month. 

Wed 15- Pray for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he continues to teach and mentor the students who are part of our theological education program there. He is currently meeting with two groups weekly in hopes of starting another training class.

Thu 16- Pray for the staff & students at  New Dawn Educational Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.  Please pray for God's anointing for success as they prepare for their 3rd annual Run for Hope which raises support for the New Dawn Educational Centre. 

Fri 17- Pray for the men and women living in refugee camps in South Sudan who want to join our theological training programs.  Please pray for the resources needed to print the curriculum so these eager students may begin the classes. 

Sat 18- Praise God for our impact partner, The Mocha Club, and the influencers who share our work in Africa with their audiences. Please pray for God to increase our Mocha Club Membership so that we can continue to support our partners throughout Africa.   

Sun 19-  Please pray for the leaders who will attend the trauma-healing training workshop in Butembo, DRC this week.  Please pray the Lord will prepare their hearts and that they will  be faithful to take what they learn and implement it in their communities.

Mon 20- Pray for Geoffrey Ocan, Country Director for Uganda. Pray the Lord will lead those He has chosen to join the theological education classes this year.  Please pray also for continued good health for Geoffrey and his family. 

Tue 21- Praise God for the Spread The Word program which raises funds to equip our theological education students with the tools they need including Study Bibles and curriculum

Wed 22- Pray for the peace process in South Sudan.  Country Director Tito Iranga and his Board chairman have been engaging communities in peace dialogues this month. There is positive response from one community but there is still a hardness on the other side.  Tito is praying and believing they will come to their senses.  He asks that we pray for another time in the coming months for both he and Klero to visit these communities to help finalize the peace process!  

Thu 23- Please pray the Lord prepares the Mocha Club Journey members who will travel to Kenya next week to visit & encourage our project partners there. 

Fri 24- Please pray for the spouses and families of our partners in Africa. May they know God's presence and peace, protection and provision.  

Sat 25- Please pray for our U.S. staff; for health, encouragement, and passion as we continue to serve God in this ministry.

Sun 26- Pray for success in the growth of the New Dawn Mentorship Ltd. (formerly New Dawn Children’s Abstinence Program). This program aspires to expand its operation in ways that will generate income that would provide financial subsidy for the operations of the New Dawn Educational Centre.

“ And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11 NIV

Mon 27- On this Memorial Day, we remember those who courageously laid down their lives for the cause of freedom. May the examples of their sacrifice inspire in us the selfless love of God's Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless the families of our fallen troops, and fill their homes and their lives with His strength and peace.

Tue 28- Pray for the women and children who are taking part in one of our trauma-healing programs. Pray for those who have been through a program, that they would continue down the path of healing.

Wed 29- Please pray for the Lord's favor on one of our project partners in Africa as they are pursuing a local funding opportunity.

Thu 30- Pray for the Women at Risk program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Pray for holistic transformation for the women who are currently in the program. Pray for the leadership as they are seeking God's discernment and direction for their five-year strategic plan.

Fri 31- Praise God for our partners on the ground in Africa; for their diligence, their integrity, and their desire to see their communities thrive!

APRIL 2019 PRAYER GUIDE

Mon 1- Please pray for healing for Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he is being treated for cancer. Please pray for continued faith and peace for him and his wife Helene during this difficult time. Pray for his ministry back in Rwanda that continues in his absence.

Tue 2- Please pray for those in Southern Africa struggling in the aftermath of Cyclone Idai. Many lives have been lost and many more have been displaced from their homes. Pray for our students and alumni who have been affected in a district of Nsanje in Malawi and are now living in camps.

Wed 3- Pray safety for Tito Iranga, Country Director for Sudan & South Sudan as he begins traveling again into South Sudan to mentor teachers and attend graduations. Pray also for his family, specifically in the areas of health and education. 

Thu 4- Pray for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he continues to teach and mentor the students who are part of our theological education program there.  He has training classes in some towns where the crime levels are very high and with the current energy crisis, towns are blacked out with no lights for hours at a time. Pray for the students who must walk to the class. As Allan makes plans to teach under these circumstances, pray that these problems will not be disruptive.

Fri 5- Pray for Peter Ochiel and his family as they continue to serve their community in Eastern Kenya through Action Ministry.  Pray for them as they have taken in four children who lost their mom and have no other living relatives.

Sun 14- Pray for the women and children who are taking part in one of our trauma-healing programs. Pray for those who have been through a program, that they would continue down the path of healing.

Mon 15- Please pray for Country Director Tito Iranga as he is planning to spend some time in one rural village in South Sudan where tensions are rising. Pray for wisdom and intuition as he engages these groups and works toward reconciliation and unity for his homeland.

Tue 16- Pray for Irene Tongoi, founder of the New Dawn Educational Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.  Financial sustainability is an important focus for them. Please pray for God's anointing for success.

Wed 17- Praise God for our impact partner, The Mocha Club, and the influencers who share our work in Africa with their audiences. Please pray for God to increase our Mocha Club Membership so that we can continue to support our partners throughout Africa.

Sat 20- Please pray for each of our Country Directors and the pastors who have graduated from our theological education program as they proclaim the Gospel this Easter weekend!  

Sun 21- Hallelujah!  “He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” Matt. 28:6

Mon 22- Praise God for the water projects being implemented in Africa and those who support this work! We are thankful today is World Water Day which helps focus attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

Tue 23- Please pray for the Run for Hope planning team as they continue working on all the details for this summer’s event which raises support for the New Dawn Educational Centre.

Wed 24- Pray for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone as he travels throughout the country meeting with his Board and teachers. He is struggling with infrastructure shortcomings in Sierra Leone and needs the Lord’s hand to pave the road for him as he moves. Please also pray for daily stamina for Jonathan's two children as they are in university in the U.S.

Thu 25- Pray for the first graduation of African Leadership students in the heart of Juba city, South Sudan. Please pray that this will encourage more church leaders to value the training and support the future classes.

Fri 26- Praise God for hearing and answering our prayers to end the drought in South Africa!  Allan Knowles, our Country Director there shares that last year the dams were at 23% and this year they are at 50%!

Sat 27- Pray for the local Board of Directors in Rwanda as they finalize their registration with the Rwandan government. Requirements for non profit organizations to register are more here than in other countries. Pray as this Board prepares their documents and showcases their vision; that the government will be favorable.

Sun 28- Pray for encouragement and stamina for the many teachers and pastors in Sierra Leone who are working in Muslim areas. They have hearts set on reaching these communities for Christ but are struggling with feeling very isolated. 

Mon 29- Pray for peace in South Sudan! The warring parties signed a peace deal last year.  Pray for the leaders involved on both sides, that they would desire peace above all else.

Tue 30- Praise God for the Spread The Word program which raises funds to equip our theological education students with Study Bibles!

MARCH 2019 PRAYER GUIDE

Fri 1- Please pray for the twenty women in Ethiopia who have just completed their final Gospel storying workshop. Pray for them as they return home to their communities and continue sharing the scriptures they have learned over the past two years. Pray they will not grow weary or lose heart. 

Sat 2-  Please pray for healing for Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he has begun treatment for cancer. Please pray for continued faith and peace for him and his wife Helene during this difficult time. Pray for his ministry back in Rwanda that continues in his absence.

Sun 3-  Pray for Tito Iranga, Country Director for Sudan & South Sudan, as he manages his work / life balance. He is currently overseeing operations in 2 war-torn countries plus the massive undertaking of working in the refugee camps. He is stretched and passionate about his work. Yet, he also has a wife and 4 young children (ages 2-13) at home. He deeply desires being a present Dad and is learning the tension of both work and family life. 

 Mon 4- Pray for Peter Ochiel and his family as they continue to serve their community in Eastern Kenya through Action Ministry. Pray for them as they have taken in four children who lost their mom and have no other living relatives. 

Tue 5- Praise God for the Fabulous Friends for Africa, the hard work of these ten women and the success of last month's Valentine's Dance

Wed 6- Pray for Geoffrey Ocan, Country Director for Uganda. Pray that his teachers and students will be committed to their studies. Pray that African Leadership Uganda will be accredited this year.  Also, please pray that the government policies being made will not frustrate the work of the church in Uganda.

Pray for the safety of Denis and his family, for his board, teachers, students, and graduates. Pray for classes to continue uninterrupted in the aftermath, growing the impact and importance of the church in the midst of political instability

Fri 8- Pray for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he continues to teach and mentor the students who are part of our theological education program there.  Allan would like to expand his ministry into some of the rural towns outside of Cape Town. Please pray for the exposure and contact he needs.  

Sat 9- Pray for the Women at Risk program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  They are serving  69 women at the moment and have asked us to pray for holistic transformation for these women.  Also, they have been facing major funding shortages and are looking for churches, organizations and government offices locally that can support them; please pray for God's favor upon them as they approach these local potential partners. 

Sun 10- Please pray for the staff at the Flame of Love orphanage in Goma, Congo as they love and care for the children. Please continue to pray healing for Sister Alvera, director of the orphanage, as she is treated for cancer far from home in Italy.

Wed 13- Pray for peace in South Sudan! Pray for classes which continue in areas of great instability inside South Sudan. Pray for safety & provision for our teachers and students as they gather to meet and learn the Word of God. 

Thu 14- Please pray for our Country Director, Asrat Gizaw, as he balances a rapidly growing program in Ethiopia. Pray for his local Board, that they would be the support he needs in this busy time. Also, pray for the country of Ethiopia as there is instability there.  

Fri 15- Pray for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone, as he serves the teachers and students of our program there. Please pray for physical and spiritual strength for Jonathan and for his Board of Directors to continue to be a support to him. Pray for a more fruitful ministry this year in his local church and the African Leadership ministry.  Jonathan is also praying for God to grant his children scholarships this year to be able continue their studies. 

Sat 16- Pray for the women and children who are taking part in one of our trauma-healing programs. Pray for those who have been through a program, that they would continue down the path of healing.

Sun 17- Pray for the several members of the Fabulous Friends for Africa who have recently had or are growing babies. Pray for their expanding families and safe, healthy pregnancies, deliveries, and babies. 

Mon 18- Pray for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director for Malawi, as he serves the students and teachers in our theological education program there. He is asking for prayer for abundant grace so that the ministry will make a big impact in people's lives.  He has also asked for prayer for his family; for the availability of school fees for his children.

Tue 19- Praise God for the Spread The Word program which raises funds to equip our theological education students with Study Bibles! 

Wed 20- Please pray for those at risk of contracting the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Country Director Denis Hangi asks us to please remember those brothers and sisters who are suffering with the disease or mourning the loss of loved ones due to this virus.

Thu 21- Praise God for our impact partner, The Mocha Club, and the influencers who share our work in Africa with their audiences. Please pray for God to increase our Mocha Club Membership so that we can continue to support our partners throughout Africa.  

Fri 22- Praise God for the water projects being implemented in Africa and those who support this work! We are thankful today is World Water Day which helps focus attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

Sat 30- Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, our Country Director in Rwanda & Burundi is praying the Lord will bring an individual to take over his church responsibilities by the middle of 2019.  Please pray with him in this matter. 

Sun 31- Praise God for our partners on the ground in Africa; for their diligence, their integrity, and their desire to see their communities thrive!

FEBRUARY 2019 PRAYER GUIDE

Fri 1- Praise God for our partners on the ground in Africa; for their diligence, their integrity, and their desire to see their communities thrive!

Sat 2- Pray for Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi. Pray for Mezack’s health and for peace in the uncertainty of what’s next. Pray for his wife Helene as she supports him during this journey. Pray for his ministry back in Rwanda that continues in his absence and pray that the stress of being away from it for a prolonged period of time is manageable for Mezack. 

Sun 3- Pray for Tito Iranga, Country Director for Sudan & South Sudan, as he manages his work / life balance. He is currently overseeing operations in 2 war-torn countries plus the massive undertaking of working in the refugee camps. He is stretched and passionate about his work. Mon 18- Pray for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director for Malawi, as he serves the students and teachers in our theological education program there. He is asking for prayer for abundant grace so that the ministry will make a big impact in people's lives.  He has also asked for prayer for his family; for the availability of school fees for his children.

Tue 19- Praise God for the Spread The Word program which raises funds to equip our theological education students with Study Bibles! 

Wed 20- Please pray for those at risk of contracting the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Country Director Denis Hangi asks us to please remember those brothers and sisters who are suffering with the disease or mourning the loss of loved ones due to this virus.

Thu 21- Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu, our Country Director in Rwanda & Burundi is praying the Lord will bring an individual to take over his church responsibilities by the middle of 2019.  Please pray with him in this matter. 

Fri 22- Pray for the Women at Risk program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  They are serving 69 women at the moment and have asked us to pray for holistic transformation for these women.  Also, they have been facing major funding shortages and are looking for churches, organizations and government offices locally that can support them; please pray for God's favor upon them as they approach these local potential partners.

JANUARY 2019 PRAYER GUIDE

Tues 1- Praise God for His guidance and direction for this ministry!  Praise Him for His provision through our many supporters, like you! 

Wed 2- Pray for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he continues to teach and mentor the students who are part of our theological education program there. 

Thu 3- Pray for Tito Oturo, Country Director for Sudan/South Sudan as he serves the men and women taking part in our theological education program while living in refugee resettlement areas in Northern Uganda.

Fri 4- Pray for God's provision for Denis Hangi, our Country Director in DRC, as he is in need of a vehicle and repairs to his church building.  He has also asked us to pray for safety for him and his family as there have been robberies and killings in his city.

December 2018 Prayer Guide

Sat 1- Praise God for our partners on the ground in Africa!  Please pray for some restful time with their families during the holiday season since most of them are traveling a lot during the year.  

Sun 2- Please pray for healing over Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi.  Pastor Mezack was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.  We are trusting God with him for healing!

Mon 3- Pray for Tito Oturo, Country Director for Sudan/South Sudan as he holds his first child trauma-healing workshop.  The first section begins tomorrow as he trains the adults who will facilitate the program and then the children will be present December 10-14.  Pray the Holy Spirit shows up in a mighty way to minister to both the adults and children who are part of this program.

Sat 15- Please pray for a recent graduate in South Africa who feels called to pastor a church.  He is married with two children, occupies a fulltime job and is taking additional theological courses at night.  Please pray for wisdom to manage his time wisely and to lead with a humble, servant attitude.

Thu 1- Please pray for the thirteen South Sudanese teachers attending the lay trauma-healing training workshop in a refugee camp in Northern Uganda. Pray for Geoffrey Ocan & Tito Oturo as they are teaching; for energy to engage day after day and for the teachers as they go through this material for the first time.

Fri 2- Pray safety and traveling mercies for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he has been visiting supporters in the U.S. Pray also for his wife Lorraine as she continues serving their network in his absence.

Sat 3- Pray for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director in Malawi, and those teaching and attending two new Handbook classes this fall.

Sun 4- Praise God for the success of the lay trauma workshop held recently in Goma, Congo which brought together twenty teachers to be trained in this new curriculum.  Pastor Mezack from Rwanda joined Denis in Congo to teach and facilitate the training and were greatly encouraged by the response. 

Mon 5- Pray for Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he spends much of this month traveling in both Rwanda and Burundi.  Please pray for safety and traveling mercies. 

Tue 6- Please continue to pray for complete healing for Geoffrey Ocan, Country Director for Uganda, whose leg was broken in an accident back in May.  He is now able to walk, but is still experiencing pain.

Mon 22- Pray with and for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director for Malawi, as he continues to be in need of a new vehicle after an accident last year which left his totaled.  

Tue 23- Pray for the local Board of Directors in DRC.  This Board is working to register their organization nationally. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they work to finalize their governing policies and register with the national authorities. Pray for God’s favor on their work.

Wed 24- Pray for the women and children who are taking part in our trauma-healing programs. Pray for those who have been through the program, that they would continue down the path of healing. 

Thu 25- Pray for success in the growth of New Dawn Mentorship Ltd. (formerly New Dawn Children’s Abstinence Program). This program aspires to expand its operation in ways that will generate income that would provide financial subsidy for the operations of the New Dawn Educational Centre.

Fri 26- Pray for Denis Hangi, Country Director in DRC, as he continues to serve the men and women in our theological education and trauma-healing programs there. Pray too that God would provide the funds to repair the roof of his church building.

Wed 1- Pray for Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he and his wife Helene travel to the US to meet their newborn twin grandbabies! Pray for traveling mercies and a sweet time with family!

Thu 2- Pray for the men and women who are part of our two-year theological education program. Pray for endurance to finish well and for God to use them mightily in their communities

Fri 3- Pray for the Mocha Club team departing today on their Journey to Kenya. Pray for their time visiting and encouraging Peter Ochiel at Action Ministries and Irene Tongoi at New Dawn Educational Centre. 

Sat 4- Pray for Tito, our Sudan/South Sudan Country Director as he serves the men and women taking part in our theological education program while living in refugee resettlement areas in Northern Uganda. 

Sun 5- Praise God for rain in Cape Town South Africa!  Please continue to pray for rain as the drought has been severe! 

Mon 6- Pray for our Country Director in Uganda Geoffrey Ocan, as he continues to experience pain after breaking his leg.  Please pray for healing!

Sat 11- Pray for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone, as he serves the teachers and students of our program there. Pray for him and his wife Marian to recieve visas in order to visit their children who are students in the US.

Fri 24- Pray for peace in South Sudan! Pray for classes which continue in areas of great instability inside South Sudan. Pray for our teachers and students as they gather to meet and learn the Word of God. 

Sat 25- Pray for our team traveling to Ethiopia to take part in a trauma-healing workshop.  Pray for traveling mercies and that God will work mightily in and through them during their time there.  

Sun 26- Pray for the trauma-healing workshop that will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia beginning tomorrow morning.  More than twenty women from all around Ethiopia have gathered for the 3rd phase of this program.  Pray for each of them and their families throughout this week.

Sun 1- Praise God for the 15th wedding anniversay of Asrat & Edlam!  Asrat is our Country Director in Ethiopia.  He is a faithful servant-leader and his wife Edlam is a great support to him!

Mon 2- Praise God for our impact partner The Mocha Club and the artists who share our work in Africa with their audiences.  Please pray for God to increase our Mocha Club membership so that we can continue to support our partners throughout Africa. 

Tue 3- Pray for Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi. As the government continues to close churches that don’t meet strict codes, Mezack and his church are working diligently to try to finish their new building so they don’t have to stop meeting! Pray for favor with the government and resources and weather to push them along.

Wed 4- Pray for Sudan/South Sudan Country Director Tito and his family as they prepare to move into a new home. Pray God brings the perfect house and that it can settle this family into a season of planting roots which they haven't had as a family in the last 10 years. 

Thu 5- A drought in the Western Cape province of South Africa began in 2015 and is resulting in a severe water shortage in the region, most notably affecting the city of Cape Town. Please pray for sustained rains in this region! Pray also for the country as it remains in political turmoil and there are daily riots and protests. 

Fri 6- Pray for the staff and students at the New Dawn Educational Centre in the Huruma slum outside of Nairobi, Kenya.  Pray for the team as they plan the 2nd Annual Run for Hope scheduled for August 11. 

Sat 7- As we begin our 2019 strategic planning season, please pray that God will give our African country leadership, our Boards around the continent and our staff and Board here discernment and direction.

Fri 1- Pray for the alumni of our education programs (theological, community development, trauma-healing) to continue to be agents of change and transformation in their communities.

Sat 2- Pray for Our Country Director in Uganda Geoffrey Ocan, as he and his family mourn the loss of his sister.  Pray also for Geoffrey as he recovers from a broken leg and is experiencing a great deal of pain.  

Sun 3- Pray for Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi. As the government continues to close churches that don’t meet strict codes, Mezack and his church are working diligently to try to finish their new building so they don’t have to stop meeting! Pray for favor with the government and resources and weather to push them along.

Pray for TK, our board development specialist, who will assist him with the process of choosing potential board members, vetting them, and training them during an orientation this month. Pray for those who will make up the AL Sierra Leone board, that they would be committed, Godly leaders that help Jonathan grow his ministry and support him in his work.

Thu 7- A drought in the Western Cape province of South Africa began in 2015 and is resulting in a severe water shortage in the region, most notably affecting the city of Cape Town. Please pray for sustained rains in this region! Pray also for the country as it remains in political turmoil and there are daily riots and protests.

Mon 14- Praise God for our impact partner The Mocha Club, and the artists who share our work in Africa with their audiences.  Please pray for God to increase our Mocha Club membership so that we can continue to support our partners throughout Africa.

Tue 15- Pray for those who will take part in the upcoming journey to Kenya.  Pray for God to lead others He would have join this group as they go to visit and encourage Peter Ochiel at Action Ministries and Irene Tongoi at New Dawn Educational Centre. 

Wed 16- Pray for Jonathan Titus-Williams, Country Director in Sierra Leone, as he serves the teachers and students of our program there. Pray for him and his wife Marian to receive their travel visas so they are able to come to the US to visit their children who are in school here. 

Thu 17- Pray for Country Director Geoffrey Ocan as he serves the teachers and students of our program in Uganda. Praise God for the recent land purchase! Pray for the construction of his new office to go smoothly.

Fri 18- Pray for the local Boards of Directors in Africa. Please pray for wisdom and discernment as they serve alongside our Country Directors. 

Sat 19- Praise God for the many students who are graduating from African Leadership's theological education program! Please pray for them as they move forward in ministry with all they have learned. 

Sun 20- Please pray for the staff at the Flame of Love orphanage in Goma, Congo as they love and care for the children. 

Mon 21- Pray for Allan Knowles, Country Director for South Africa, as he continues to disciple his students through our two-year theological education program.

Tue 22- Pray for the trauma-healing workshop which will take place in June in Rwanda. Pray for those who are preparing now for that workshop.

Wed 23- Pray for the local leaders in Africa who are learning and working towards strengthening their communities spiritually, emotionally and physically. 

Thu 24- Praise God for the arrival of new curriculum for our program in Rwanda and Congo! The shipment of course manuals that accompanies our core two-year program just arrived in Kigali in April and will be distributed to new students this month.

Fri 25- Pray for Mezack Nkundabantu, Country Director for Rwanda and Burundi, as he serves the teachers and students enrolled in our theological program there. Pray for the funding for a new church building that will meet with local codes. 

Sat 26- Pray for Leonard Chipangano, Country Director in Malawi. Please pray for a vehicle for him as his was totaled in an accident last year.  Leonard asked that we also pray with him for the funds to purchase new graduation gowns for his students.

Sun 27- Pray for African Leadership students in Rwanda as the government cracks down on churches and has started taking strong steps towards closing them should they not be 100% up to strict building codes. Pray against discouragement for those affected.  Pray for solutions so they can continue meeting and worshiping the Lord together.

Mon 28- Pray for the women and children who are taking part in the trauma-healing programs. Pray for those who have been through the program, that they would continue down the path of healing. 

Tue 29- Praise the Lord with us for everyone who invests in this ministry with prayer, finances and/or volunteering! 

Wed 30- Praise God for the Spread The Word program which raises support to equip leaders in Africa with local language Study Bibles. 

Thu 31- Pray for our staff, that we will "Trust in the Lord with all our hearts; and not depend on our own understanding."  Pray we will "seek His will in all we do, so that He will show us which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT)

April 2018 Prayer Calendar

Sun 1- Lord God, You loved this world so much, that you gave your one and only Son, that we might be called your children too. Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace of Easter Sunday, everyday. Let us have hearts of thankfulness for your sacrifice. Let us have eyes that look upon Your grace and rejoice in our salvation. Help us to walk in that mighty grace and tell your good news to the world. All for your glory do we pray, Lord, Amen.

Mon 2-  A drought in the Western Cape province of South Africa began in 2015 and is resulting in a severe water shortage in the region, most notably affecting the city of Cape Town. Please pray for sustained rains in this region! 

Tue 3- Praise God for the group of men who visited Pastor Mezack Nkundabantu and his network in Rwanda recently! This journey was a great encouragement to all involved!

Wed 4-  Pray for Asrat Gizaw, Country Directory in Ethiopia, as he serves the Academy teachers and students there. Please pray for his home church as they seek to pay off their land loan.
 

Thu 5- Pray for the leaders who are learning and working towards strengthening their communities spiritually, emotionally and physically. 

Fri 6-  Pray for Country Director Tito Oturo who is serving his communities in Sudan, South Sudan and in the refugee camps in Northern Uganda. Pray for peace in South Sudan!
 

Sat 7- Pray for Peter Ochiel as he serves the Lord in Mombasa, Kenya through Action Ministries. Please pray for God to provide the needed funds for the school building project. Please also pray that Peter will be able to bring his family when he visits the US this summer.

Sun 8- Pray for the Women at Risk program in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Pray that the women who are part of this vital program will know the restoration that comes through a relationship with Jesus. Pray for the women who are graduating from the program and those who are about to begin. 

Mon 9- Pray for healing for Sister Alvera, director of the Flame of Love orphanage in Goma, Congo as she is treated for cancer. 

Tue 10-  Pray for the staff and students at the New Dawn Educational Centre in the Huruma slum outside of Nairobi, Kenya.  Pray as they plan the 2nd Annual Run for Hope scheduled for August 11. 

Wed 11- Leonard Chipangano, Malawi Country Director, shared this praise:. "My first born daughter, Alinafe, has been selected to pursue her Degree Program at University of Malawi. I am a very happy dad because there is always limited space for 1st year students.  The competition is always very stiff for one to secure a place in these universities." We praise God with Leonard and his family!

Thu 12- Pray for the men and women who are part of our two-year theological training program. Pray for endurance to finish well and for God to use them mightily in their communities. 

Fri 13- Pray for our Country Director in Congo, Denis Hangi, as he leads and serves the students in our theological program there. Please pray for financial support for the men who are now working as volunteers in his office. 

Sat 14- Please pray for our Board of Directors and the meeting taking place today. Pray for God's leading in all we do!
