September 2013 Prayer Calendar

"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.."Ephesians 3:20-21


Sunday 1:  This month, please continue to pray for the entire African Leadership staff, both in Africa and the US, that we would rely on God's power at work within us as we serve Him daily.

Monday 2: Please continue to pray for our Christian brothers and sisters throughout Egypt as they face persecution for their faith.  Remember our National Director as he continues to teach our Leadership Development classes there.

Tuesday 3: Praise God for the safe and successful #blogABLE trip with members of our Mocha Club and fashionABLE teams. 

Wednesday 4: Please pray for African Leadership Educational Advisor Phil Renicks as he leads teacher training at the Adziwa Christian School in Malawi.  Pray for clarity in both teaching and  learning.

Thursday 5:  Praise God for Geoffrey Ocan, our Country Director in Uganda who is living out his faith in humble service to God and his community as he teaches others to do the same.

“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26

Friday 6:  Praise God for the churches that partner with us through both prayer and financial support!

Saturday 7 : Please continue to pray for our brothers and sisters in the Democratic Rebulic of Congo as fighting rages all around them.  May they know God's presence, protection and peace even as their lives are threatened daily.

 "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." - Ephesians 6:18-20

Sunday 8: Please continue to pray for Cherry Friedmeyer, director of the Women at Risk project in Ethiopia.  Pray for the new class of women that entered the program in August as they adjust into a new life. Pray for effective healing and trauma counseling.  Please also pray for the children that  entered the program with their mothers, that they will find rest and healing as they begin to hear the truth of the Gospel.

Monday 9:  Praise God for Debey Sayndee, our Country Director in Liberia.  Please pray for him as he leads other pastors in his country through Leadership Development classes.

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”Matthew 21:22

Tuesday10:  Please pray today for our event with Dr. Diane Langbergwho will address the topic of Trauma as Mission to many leaders in our community.

Wednesday 11:  Please pray for the staff and students of New Dawn Educational Centre in the slums outside of Nairobi Kenya as they begin a new school term.

Thursday 12:  Praise God for the graduates of our Leadership Development program throughout Africa.  May God bless them as they seek to build the faith and future of their communities and continent.

Friday 13: Please pray as we raise funds to ship a container of desperately needed medical supplies to hospitals and health centers in Malawi.

Saturday 14Praise God for the African Leadership Board of Directors who pray for us, guide us and support us!

" Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."- Romans 12:12

Sunday 15: At the present rate of supply, only one out of every six African believers will own a Bible in their lifetime. Our goal is 6 of 6!  Please pray for the funding of this initiative!

Monday 16:  Please pray for Rev. Tito Iranga  African Leadership’s Director in both Sudan and South Sudan, and for the pastors who risk their lives to attend Leadership Development classes there.

Tuesday 17:  Please pray for the Heritage Kenya Organization.  This organization seeks to minister to those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS in the slums of Kibera through health and nutrition education.

Wednesday 18:  Praise God for those who have taken on a Purpose Project to raise funds in support of our Community Development projects.

Thursday 19: Please pray for Pastor Abebe Yewhalashet in Gonder, Ethiopia as he organizes financial support to cover school fees and materials for children within the community, believing that basic education is a key element in the development of every child.

 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”  Ephesians 6:18

Friday 20: Please pray for the Living Hope Support Groups in South Africa which serve as part of an overall strategy to prevent the spread of chronic illnesses including HIV and AIDS.

Saturday 21:  Praise God for Asrat Birhanu Gizaw, African Leadership’s Country Director in Ethiopia.  Pray for wisdom and strength as he serves those throughout his country.

Sunday 22:  Please pray for our leaders as we begin training Trauma Healing, that they would be able to address questions in their communities such as “Where was God when…?” in a way that honestly, lovingly, and biblically heals spiritual and emotional trauma.

"Pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.  Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” Colossians 4:2-4

Monday 23:  Please pray for those who will journey with us to Africa in the coming year, that God would use our time there for His purposes and Glory.

Tuesday 24:   Praise God for Christopher Mwanza.  Christopher is our Country Director in Zambia. Pray for him as he mentors the teachers and students in his Leadership Development network.

Wednesday 25:  Please pray for our partners on the ground in Africa who serve their communities as God's agents of spiritual, social, and cultural transformation,to build His kingdom.

Thursday 26:  Praise God for the work of the Mocha Club which supports our Community Development projects through donors giving up a few mochas a month.

Friday 27: Please pray for the nearly 3,000 orphans in the Lizulu area of Malawi and for African Leadership’s work there to care for them

Saturday 28: Please pray for Leonard Chipangano, our Country Director in Malawi ... that God would provide the funding for his daughter's school fees and all his family's needs.

Sunday 29: Praise God for all those who graciously support African Leadership through prayer and financial support.

Monday 30:  Please pray this scripture for all those in the midst of our Leadership Development program in Africa: "I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge." Ephesians 3:17-20
