“…men always ought to pray and not lose heart” Luke 18:1

Thursday 1:  This month, please pray for the staff of African Leadership, both in the U.S. & Africa.  May we continue to follow God’s leading in all He would have us do.

Friday 2: Please pray for our Christian brothers and sisters throughout Egypt as they face persecution for their faith.  Remember our National Director, Gamal Gerges, in prayer.

 “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.  Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.” Colossians 4:2-4


Saturday 3: Praise God for our July visit from Cherry Friedmeyer, director of the Women at Risk project in Ethiopia, and for a continued and successful partnership.  Pray for Cherry and her family as they wrap up their summer travels in North America and head home to Ethiopia.

Sunday 4:  Please pray for Peter and Monica Odero, directors of HEKO (Heritage Kenya Organization) as they have been very sick. Both are on medication for malaria but are having a hard time recovering.

Monday 5:  Please pray for Allen Ilunga and Denis Hangi who are working in the DRC despite violent attacks on behalf of the communities that have not yet fled.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26

Tuesday 6:  Praise God for Tito Iranga, our National Director in Sudan and South Sudan.  Please pray for him as he directs Leadership Development classes in this still unstable, and often violent, land.

Wednesday 7:  Please pray for a time of peace post-election in Zimbabwe, whether it be a change of power or not.

 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27

 Thursday 8:  Praise God for the opportunity available to those with a heart for Africa to travel to the continent with one of our teams on an upcoming journey.  Please pray for God to knit these teams together so that they would have humble hearts as they serve our brothers and sisters in Africa.

Friday 9:  Continue to pray with us that God will bring the funds necessary to continue the work He has called us to.

“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”Matthew 21:22

Saturday 10: Pray for the group of bloggers leaving for Ethiopia today with Mocha Club & fashionABLE, that they will be able to process and participate fully during their time on the ground and subsequently introduce many new partners to the work of African Leadership upon their return.

Sunday 11:  Praise God for the graduates of our Leadership Development program throughout Africa.  May God bless them as they seek to build the faith and future of their communities and continent.

Monday 12:  Please pray with us that every believer in Africa will have a copy of the Bible  and will experience how a biblical worldview leads to a biblical life.

Tuesday 13:  Praise God for those whose support provides accessible education to children living in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya through the New Dawn Educational Centre.

 Wednesday 14:  Praise God for African Leadership’s Country Directors serving in 23 countries across the continent of Africa.

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” Ephesians 1:15-16

Thursday 15:  Praise God for those who have taken on a Purpose Project to raise funds in support of our Community Development projects.

Friday 16:  Please pray for those who will represent African Leadership at the African Consultation being held in Cape Town, South Africa over the next several days.  May God encourage them both through interaction with their peers and through information they will receive.

Saturday 17:  Praise God for Michael Adeboye.  Michael is our Country Director in Nigeria. Pray for him as he mentors the teachers and students in his Leadership Development network.

Sunday 18:  Pray for the churches and communities throughout Africa, that each member would grow in faith in our Heavenly Father

Monday 19:  Pray for the new class of women entering into the Ellilta: Women at Risk program in August as they adjust into a new life. Pray for effective healing and trauma counseling.  Please also pray for the children that are entering the program this month with their mothers, that they will find rest and healing from their traumatic young lives and begin to hear the truth of the Gospel for them.

 “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”  Ephesians 6:18

Tuesday 20:  Praise God for the upcoming wedding of Peter Odero’s daughter.  Peter and Monica, founders of the Heritage Kenya Organization (HEKO), will attend the wedding in the States.  Please pray for safe travels and for all the wedding preparations.

Wednesday 21:  Praise God for Leonard Chipangano, African Leadership’s Country Director in Malawi.  Pray for wisdom and strength as he serves those in his country.

Thursday 22:  Please pray for all those teaching our Leadership Development classes throughout Africa.

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” Ephesians 6:19

Friday 23:  Praise God for the Fabulous Friends for Africa who celebrate their birthdays each year by hosting a party to support both our Leadership and Community Development programs!

Saturday 24:  Praise God for our Country Director in Zambia, Christopher Mwanza.  Please pray for courage, strength, and wisdom as he serves there.

Sunday 25:  Please pray as we raise funds to ship a container of desperately needed medical supplies to hospitals and health centers in Malawi.

Monday 26:  Praise God for the work of the Mocha Club which supports our Community Development projects through donors giving up a few mochas a month.

 Tuesday 27: Please pray for the nearly 3,000 orphans in the Lizulu area of Malawi and for African Leadership’s work there to care for them

Wednesday 28:  Praise God for the New Dawn Mji Wa Huruma dispensary filling an immense healthcare void through a partnership between the Kenyan Ministry of Health and New Dawn Kenya.

Thursday 29: Praise God for all those who graciously support African Leadership through prayer and funding.

 Friday 30:  Pray for us as we follow God’s leading into a partnership with Bible Societies in the U.S. and across Africa to apply the healing words of Scripture to those who have experienced deep trauma in Africa.

Saturday 31: Praise God for the men and women dedicated to attending our Leadership Development classes throughout Africa.  Please pray for wisdom and understanding in the application of all that they are learning.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
