Thursday 1: Please pray for the African Leadership team in Ethiopia this week for the Common Grounds Summit.  Pray for God's plan to be fulfilled as both staff from the U.S. and all our Country Directors from Africa come together for the first time in years.

Friday 2: Today is the 10th anniversary of our Women At Risk program in Ethiopia!  We praise God for Cherry Friedmeyer and her staff and are excited to celebrate with them today!

Saturday 3:  Please pray for the wonderful team of volunteers who are working diligently to put together this year's Ellie's Run for Africa.  We praise God for them and all who will come out to enjoy a day of family fun on Saturday, May 17 as funds are raised to support for New Dawn Educational Centre!

Sunday 4:  As the Common Grounds Summit comes to a close today, please pray for safe travels for everyone as they return to their homes and families.

Monday 5: Praise God for the men who serve as African Leadership's Country Directors throughout Africa!  Please pray for them and their families as they serve the men and women in our Common Grounds Academy.

Tuesday 6:  Please pray for Christopher Mwanza, African Leadership's Country Director in Zambia.  Please pray God's comfort for him and his family as he recently lost his son.  May God's presence be mighty in this time of deep mourning.

Wednesday 7:  Please lift up and continue to pray for our beloved teachers at the New Dawn Educational Centre in Kenya as they work diligently each day to cultivate an environment of growth and love for their students.

Thursday 8:  Praise God for Tito Oturo, our Country Director in Sudan/South Sudan.  Please continue to pray for peace in this war torn land and for safety for Tito, his family and those in our Common Grounds Academy classes there.

Friday 9:  Continue to lift up Peter and Monica Odero as they minister to families affected by HIV/AIDS in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya through the ministry of HEKO (Heritage Kenya Organization).

Saturday 10:  Praise God for all who have committed to supporting our Common Grounds Academy through the Spread The Word Bible Program!  Please pray for the Spread The Word Golf Tournament this fall that will bring awareness and raise support for this vital program!

Sunday 11: Please pray for the New Dawn Mji Wa Huruma Clinic and all the men and women who are served in and around the Huruma slum by this vital ministry.

Monday 12: Praise God for African Leadership's Country Director in Egypt (name withheld for security purposes).  Please pray for him and his family as he continues to serve and direct our Common Grounds Academy students and teachers there.

Tuesday 13: Please pray for Patson Netha, African Leadership's Country Director in Zimbabwe, as he serves those in our Common Grounds Academy there.

Wednesday 14: Praise God for those who will journey with us to Malawi this fall to visit and encourage our partners on the ground there!  Pray that God's plans and purposes will prevail.

Thursday 15: Pray for the Mocha Club as they continue to raise support for our Common Grounds Centers in Africa.

Friday 16: Praise God that we have such wonderful partners in Malawi working at the Lizulu orphan care program. We pray that they may continue to not only change the lives of the vulnerable children that come through their doors, but continue to empower the families of those children as well.

Saturday 17:  Ellie’s Run for Africa, which benefits the New Dawn Educational Centre, takes place TODAY! We praise God for the team of volunteers who have worked so hard to plan this event.  Please pray for all who participate!

Sunday 18: Pray for the continued development of our Common Grounds program in Africa so that men and women all over the continent can create sustainable change in their communities.

Monday 19: Please pray for Annie Downs and the group of travelers heading to Kenya today to visit New Dawn Ministries.  Annie raised support for this trip through a Purpose Project and will be joined by several bloggers on this journey.  Keep up with them here.

Tuesday 20: Praise God for Asrat Birhanu Gizaw, African Leadership's Country Director in Ethiopia.  Please pray for him and his family as they serve the men and women in our Common Grounds Academy there.

Wednesday 21: Please pray for the vulnerable children involved in the Adziwa child sponsorship program. Pray that their needs be met physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Thursday 22: Pray for the work of our friend Everton Kamangire who had the strength and determination to start the Lizulu orphan care project in Malawi. We pray that people who feel similarly called may find the courage that he possesses.

Friday 23: Please pray for many in Africa to discover the freedom, peace and joy found only in the Gospel.

Saturday 24: Praise God for our Board of Directors who continue to seek God's purposes as they direct this ministry.

Sunday 25: Praise God for our friends who have had the courage to take on Purpose Projects and for all those who donate to those projects.

Monday 26: Please pray that God may touch the hearts of pastors considering joining our Common Grounds Academy, that they may be moved by the spirit to the ministry of the Lord.

Tuesday 27: Praise God for all of those who have offered continual support for African Leadership and our programs in Africa.

Wednesday 28: Please pray for Mezack Nkundabantu, African Leadership's Country Director for both Rwanda and Burundi, as he serves those participating in the Common Grounds Academy there.

Thursday 29: Praise God for the spiritual seeds that He has planted in Africa through our Country Directors, graduates, and students currently enrolled in the Common Grounds Academy.

Friday 30: Please pray that the Holy Spirit moves in Africa so that the hearts, souls, and bodies of many may continue to be healed and nourished.

Saturday 31: Pray for the students at the New Dawn Educational Centre, that they may continue to grow in their knowledge, inspire others, and participate in the continued renewal taking place in the Huruma slum.
